Plasma is often referred to as “the fourth state of matter”, after solid, liquid, and gas. It is created when electrostatic energy mixes with ionized gas. When the thermal energy from a plasma device reaches around 1mm from the skin, it mixes with oxygen and nitrogen in the atmosphere and creates a plasma arc, which vaporizes upon contact with the skin.​

How Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening Treatment Works

Plasma Fibroblast skin tightening treatments lift and tighten the skin by activating your fibroblast cells using our FDA Class I Plasma Pen Device . These cells can be found in the dermis. The reason why this works so well for anti-aging efforts is that fibroblast cells can create high levels of collagen and elastin. You may have already heard a lot about collagen and elastin as they are responsible for tightening your skin and keeping it youthful. Once you have high levels of collagen and elastin, you will begin seeing long-term skin tightening effects .

The fibroblast treatment device uses voltage in the air and the gases that come from our skin to create a plasma charge. An electrical arc is made to reduce any extra skin it is targeted at. Your skin tissue will then shrink and tighten to create an anti-aging effect.

Skin Structure

The skin is a dynamic organ that is constantly changing and consists of three main layers. The upper layer, which is in contact with the external environment, is called Epidermis. It’s followed by a middle layer called the Dermis. The inner/last layer is called the Subcutaneous or Hypodermis layer. All three layers differ greatly in anatomy and function, each of which is composed of several sublayers. An interesting feature of our skin is that the epidermis regenerates in about 28 days. In doing so, the upper layer of dead cells (corneocytes) peels off, and living cells (keratinocytes) come to the surface. Pretty much like a levitating snake, just not so obvious.

Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness. A fibroblast is a type of biological cell that synthesizes the  extracellular matrix and collagen produces the structural  and plays a critical role in wound healing


Plasma fibroblast Skin Tightening therapy targets fibroblasts. These are collagen– and protein-producing cells in the dermis, the layer of skin just below your outermost skin layer.

Listed below are skin conditions we do not treat with the Plasma-Fibroblast Tightening method!

  • If your prone to scarring/keloid scarring (usually darker skin)
  • If you are prone to hyperpigmentation or melasma​
  • If you have darker skin (Fitzpatrick scale skin type V, VI)


Your skin will be red and slightly swollen for up to 3 days. The tingling or burning sensation you may feel can be treated by an ice pack / aftercare product . The burning sensation should feel similar to a sunburn.Minimal redness may be seen up to 3 weeks after the treatment. Carbon crusts will form and darken where the fibroblast treatment tool is applied. Refrain from touching carbon crusts for 5-10 days after your treatment

You will probably be able to see a slight difference directly after your treatment. You will see full results 8 weeks after your treatment as the Fibroblast takes time to produce collagen type lll and eventually convert it to Type I collagen which is the targeted outcome. In most cases , clients are happy after 2 to 3 treatment sessions depending on the area you wish to tighten.

It all depends on the area you are targeting. For instance , both eyelid area would require approx an hour.

The effects are expected to stimulate fibroblast production for up to 1 year after treatment .

Yes, a fibroblast treatment is safe. It is nonsurgical and has a low number of side effects. Healing time is fairly low and your results are long-lasting. The main side effects are a burning sensation after treatment and carbon crusts around the area.arbon crusts (the dots around the targeted area) should be left alone for the next week or so.

It is highly important to take note that after treatment direct contact with sun rays (UV radiation) and the use of chemical products on the treated area should be avoided. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is of key importance and an essential part of aftercare. The most important step you need to take to prevent hyperpigmentation is sun protection. The sun’s rays affect the skin even when it is cloudy outside, so it is important to provide daily protection for the skin. The treatment comes with Aftercare products .


Aftercare is one of the most important parts of the treatment. Each client has to follow the instructions for aftercare closely to achieve the perfect results:

Do not cover with plasters, the superficial wound needs oxygen to form carbon crust.

First 24 h after Plasma-Fibroblast treatment use After Care #1 in the spray. Spray the area 3-4 times a day.

TIP: Do not wash the treated area first 24h!

Do not pick carbon crust, it will fall off in a few days, usually 4-6th day.

Use the After Care #2 cream after the first 24 h. Keep using After Care #2. as long there is any visible traces of redness, irritation. After Care #2 should be used at least 2-3 weeks.

When you are exposed to the sun, use After Care #3 cream as it is UV protect and protects the treated area.

Avoid sauna, pools or any kind of exposure to activities which present the risk for infection of the treated area.

Make sure to protect the treated area from direct sun until the skin is completely regenerated (5–6 weeks). The more you keep off the sun better it is for the treated area

Do not apply products containing alcohol or other scents.
